Assassin's Creed Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that defies usual expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Uncovered
According to the authorized statement, "A strange meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where hints of banned rituals and terrifying transformations resonate through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a hidden cult.
The mission centers on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Changes
The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Extra Material
Players who finish the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana together with several items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Content
This release also adds the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature techniques: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime franchises. The series previously showcased a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
